Goals
We have five organizational goals:
- Attract consistent voluntary participation from urban young men.
- Gain an understanding of our participants and their backgrounds.
- Help participants identify their opportunities, challenges, and goals.
- Build our brotherhood and leadership.
- Develop positive young men who understand how to balance aggression with respect, integrity, and ethics.
Mission & Vision
Street Fraternity mission is to provide a place of brotherhood and personal growth for urban young men.
We seek nothing short of Generational Change. We will achieve this by providing alternative pathways to success.
Our young men will be safe, independent (contributing to society), and connected to their communities. In turn, they will provide influence and support so that their own children will achieve these same benchmarks in life and have greater opportunity for personal growth and productivity.
The end result is an improved community.
Inclusiveness Statement
The Street Fraternity is a brotherhood of men who welcome and are committed to a diversity of experiences, ages, ethnicities, histories, national origins, citizenship statuses, opinions, marital statuses, sexual orientations, disabilities, arrest records, religions, political affiliations, and other protected classes as required by law.
All participants, employees, and volunteers will actively support this Inclusiveness & Diversity Statement.
We have chosen to include only males as participants in order to focus our learning, resources and achievements on the unique needs and attributes of young men. We welcome women’s involvement as parents, on our Advisory Team and Board, and within our partner agencies.
